Abstract:

The existence of a society is directly related to the vitality of the language. The language is the strongest carrier of culture and the translator between generations. Knowing and learning a language requires knowing and learning the culture of the nation to which the language belongs. Because the language learned along with cultural objects is more permanent and meaningful. Culture is transmitted in many ways. The diversification of learning environments, the processing of courses in interaction, the preparation of activities-oriented curricula plans and the movement in this direction are the indispensable condition of today’s education. In this context, the museums are important and must be used. The museums are an effective environment that hides, preserves and concrete and first-hand meets the cultural treasure of a nation. The objective of this study is to try to reveal the importance of museums that provide translation of Turkish culture, in accordance with the encouragement and advice of the Ministry of National Education in recent years on museum education and the effective use of museums, especially in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language, and to evaluate the use of museums in this context, the reflections of language teaching by the method of document study. “How can the museums, in the context of the influence of interactive environments on permanent learning, be more effectively used as the environments that provide cultural transfer to foreign citizens in the teaching of the Turkish language?” The answers of the question are sought. The research is also aimed at revealing an interdisciplinary study by linking both the place of museums in the social information course and the place in the Turkish teaching.
