Abstract:

The objective of this research is to study the 1-2-3 books of Hand-to-School Pre-School Education sent by MEB to pre-school education institutions according to the teachers' opinions and the achievements and indicators in the fields of development in the MEB 2013 Pre-School Education Program. In the study, document analysis and semi-configured interview technique were used. The study was conducted by 14 teachers who studied the pre-school books and interviewed them. According to the document analysis, the results of the books and the indicators have been examined. As a result, according to the total number of indicators included in the program, cognitive development is 44%, motor development is 5%. The social and emotional development of 9% and the language development of 11.5% were determined, and it was not shown to be any indicator for self-reliance skills. The data obtained from the interviews was analyzed by content analysis technique. In the interviews, some teachers pointed out some of the features that the resource books used in pre-school education should bear. These are that books address all areas of development, that the quality of the print is good, that they host cultural characteristics, that they participate in family participation events, that they are fit to everyday life and technological developments. The research has found that books need to be updated and improved.
