Sosyal Bilgiler, çok sayıda sosyal bilim disiplininin içerik ve yöntemlerini kendi eğitsel amaçları doğrultunda kullanan bir derstir. Sosyal Bilgiler dersi, ilkokul 4. sınıf ile ortaokul 5, 6 ve 7. sınıf öğretim programlarında bir ders olarak yer almaktadır. 4 yıl süren Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmeni yetiştirme süreci, temel çerçevesi Yükseköğretim Kurulu (YÖK) tarafından belirlenmiş olan öğretmen yetiştirme programları doğrultusunda gerçekleştirilmektedir. Bu süreç 2018 yılından itibaren Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği Lisans Programı doğrultusunda ilerlemektedir. Bu program öğretmen adaylarının almaları gereken zorunlu dersleri vermekle beraber 4 yıl boyunca almaları gereken seçmeli dersleri de bir liste olarak sunmaktadır. Seçmeli dersler meslek bilgisi, genel kültür ve alan eğitimi olmak üzere 3 kategori altında toplanmaktadır. Bölümlerde bu derslerden hangilerinin açılacağı, eğitim fakültelerinde yer alan paydaşlara bırakılmıştır. Bu araştırmada, sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının seçmeli ders havuzundaki derslerden hangilerini daha gerekli gördüklerini ve hangi derslerin açılmasını istediklerini ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Tarama araştırması olarak gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmanın verileri, araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanmış olan anket kullanılarak yedi farklı üniversitede yer alan Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarından toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri frekans dağılımları ve ki-kare testi yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın ardından Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmen yetiştirme programında hangi seçmeli derslerin yer almasını istediklerine ve bu derslerden hangilerini daha gerekli gördüklerine ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca görüşlerinin öğrenim gördükleri üniversiteye ve cinsiyete göre farklılaşma durumlarına ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmanın ardından fakültelerde seçmeli derslerin açılması sırasında öğrenci görüş ve ihtiyaçlarının da göz önünde bulundurulması önerilmektedir.
Social Knowledge is a course that uses the contents and methods of numerous social science disciplines in accordance with its own educational purposes. The Social Knowledge course is included as a course in the 5th, 6th and 7th classes of secondary school with primary school 4th class. The 4-year Social Information Teacher Training process is carried out in accordance with the teachers training programs determined by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) in the basic framework. This process is progressing from 2018 in line with the Social Information Teacher's Bachelor Program. This program offers teachers candidates the mandatory courses they need to take for 4 years as a list of selective courses they need to take for 4 years. Selective courses are gathered in 3 categories: professional knowledge, general culture and field education. Which of these classes will be opened to the stakeholders in the educational departments. In this study, social information is aimed at revealing which of the courses in the selective class pool that teachers candidates find most necessary and which courses they want to open. The data of this study, conducted as a screening research, were collected from the social information teachers candidates at seven different universities using the survey prepared by the researchers. The data of the study was analyzed with the help of frequency distribution and ki-core test. After this study, the Social Information teacher candidates have reached what selectively courses they want to be included in the teacher training program and which of these courses they see more necessary. Their opinions have also reached differences in terms of the university and gender they studied. After the study, it is recommended that the student's views and needs be taken into account during the opening of optional courses at the faculty.
