Abstract:

Dictionary works in the field of Turkish teaching are present in both historical and scientific dimensions and are used in different aspects. Especially in the field of multi-language dictionaries. Since the writing of Divan-ü Lügat-it Turkish, many dictionaries have been taken into the Turkish history. The majority of them are double-language dictionaries, but the single-language dictionaries for the main language users are mainly popular. As a foreign language, a single-language Turkish dictionary is needed to teach Turkish. The work has been done and the work is continued to be written. Nevertheless, there is no dictionary that is based on the implementation of Turkish teaching as a foreign language and that is single-language. The Oxford Learner's Dictionary, Merriam-Webster Learner's Dictionary, Cambridge Learner English Dictonary, and many other well-known examples in the world, the one-language vocabulary teaching dictators occupy more place in the learning process than in previous periods. Especially in the dictionaries, it appears that the one-language limit that is important in terms of providing meaning depth is not considered a common move. Prof. Dr. Engin YILMAZ, who continues his academic studies at Sakarya University, can be regarded as the first example in many aspects of the field in this sense of the study of the Beginning Level Turkish Dictionary (A1) for Foreigners.
