Mülkiyet iktisadi hayatın merkezinde yer alan, bu nedenle çokça tartışılmış bir kavramdır. Bu tartışmaların amaçlarından birisi, toplum içerisinde gözlemlenen mülkiyet olgusunun felsefi dayanaklarını bulmaktır. John Locke, mülkiyet hakkının yaşama hakkından doğduğunu ve emek aracılığıyla gerçekleştirildiğini ortaya atarak, mülkiyetin dayanaklarına dair modern yorumu yapmış ve mülkiyeti hakların merkezine yerleştirmiştir. Buna karşılık olarak Proudhon, emek ile mülkiyet arasında böyle bir ilişki kurulamayacağını iddia ederek mülkiyeti “hırsızlık” olarak nitelemiş ve mülkiyet yerine zilyetliği yaşama hakkının kullanılması için elzem görmüştür. Marx ise, yaşamak için gerçekleştirilmesi gereken üretimden doğan mülkiyet ile burjuva özel mülkiyeti arasına bir çizgi çekerek burjuva özel mülkiyetinin oluşumundaki emek sömürüsü olgusuna dikkat çekmiş ve burjuva özel mülkiyetinin kaldırılması gerektiğini savunmuştur. Farklılıklarına rağmen üç düşünürün de emek kavramına merkezi önem atfettiğini söylemek mümkündür. Elinizde bulunan makalede, bu üç düşünürün gerek kendi görüşlerine gerekse de birbirlerine eleştirilerine yer verilmiş, sonrasında emek ve mülkiyet arasındaki ilişkinin 21. yüzyılda değişen görünümleriyle birlikte eleştirel bir incelemesinin yeniden yapılması gerekliliği ortaya konmuştur.
Property is a concept that is at the center of economic life and that is why it is widely discussed. One of the purposes of these discussions is to find the philosophical basis of the property phenomenon observed in society. John Locke, arguing that the right to property arises from the right to life and is realized through labor, made a modern interpretation of the foundations of property and placed property at the center of rights. In response to this, Proudhon, claiming that such a relationship cannot be established between labor and property, described property as "theft" and considered possession instead of property essential for the use of the right to life. On the other hand, Marx drew attention to the labor exploitation phenomenon in the formation of bourgeois private property and drew a line between bourgeois private property and the property arising from the production that must be realized in order to live. Then he argued that bourgeois private property should be abolished. Despite their differences, it is possible to say that all three thinkers placed central importance to the concept of labor. In this article, these three thinkers' own views and criticisms of each other are included, and then the necessity of a critical examination of the relationship between labor and property with its changing appearances in the 21st century has been revealed.
