Abstract:

Located in Marmara and the Egean region, Lapseki (Lampsakos) has been a settlement scene from the periods prior to the milate and has a strategic location. The objective of the study is to determine the importance of the cultural landscape values that Lapseki possesses in terms of historical and archaeological resources, local architecture, local lifestyle, use of fields, folklore and agricultural activities. The method of study is based on the determination of cultural values that add value to the Lapseki district in the historical process and gain identity. In the first phase, literary research was carried out, then, the analysis of the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats (GZTF) in terms of the use of these values in urban design was carried out. It has been determined that the region has values in terms of cultural resources. But they do not identify the city. Protecting the resources of the region in the work to be carried out by the official authorities in the future will ensure the use of Lapseki will gain identity. The results of the assessments and studies on the center of Lapseki have determined that the social life is very limited, the lack of parking and infrastructure solutions in the city center. As a result of the study, the cultural landscape map of Lapseki has created a tourist route, issues have been identified and suggestions have been brought and a sample design has been made to the city square.
