Su, canlı yaşamı için hayati öneme sahip bir unsurdur. Sürdürülebilir bir çevre açısından canlıların yaşam kaynağı olan suyun, tasarruflu ve bilinçli kullanılmasını gelecek kuşaklara benimsetecek olan öğretmenlerin, su kaynakları ve su kullanımı konusuna yönelik tutum ve davranış düzeylerinin belirlenmesi çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada, sayısal verilerle betimleme ve açıklama yapan nicel araştırma yöntemi ve mevcut durumu incelemeyi amaçlayan betimsel nitelikli tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini 2021-2022 eğitim yılında, Konya ilinde ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise de farklı branşlar da görev yapan 416 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Tanımlayıcı bir anket modeliyle elde edilen veriler incelenerek öğretmenlerin, su kullanımına yönelik tutum düzeyinin ortalama olarak yüksek olduğu ve "tamamen katılıyorum" seçeneğini gösteren 50.78 ile ortalama bir puan elde edilmiştir. Diğer yandan, ortalama davranış düzeyi "çoğu zaman" kategorisinde, 46.83 ortalama bir puanla belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenler arasında cinsiyet, yaş, medeni durum, okul türü, branş, eğitim düzeyi ve hizmet yıllarına göre tutum düzeylerinde anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Davranış düzeyleri açısından ise yaş, okul türü, branş türü ve hizmet yılı değişkenine göre yapılan t-testi ve Anova testlerine göre anlamlı farklılıklara rastlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak öğretmenlerin üniversite eğitimleri döneminde sürdürülebilirlikle alakalı dersler konulmalı, su tasarrufu ve bilinçli su kullanımına yönelik konulara eğitim programlarında daha fazla yer verilmelidir.
Water is a vital element for living life. The objective of the study is to determine the attitude and behavior of teachers, who will adopt the use of water, which is the resource of life of the living animals, to future generations, and to determine the level of attitude and behavior towards the issue of water resources and water use. In the study, the quantial research method that describes and explains with numeric data and the imaging-qualitative scanning model aimed at examining the current situation. The examples of the study are made in the 2021-2022 educational year, with 416 teachers working in primary, secondary and secondary schools in the province of Konya. By studying the data obtained with a defining survey model, the teacher’s attitude towards the use of water was averagely high and the option “I totally agree” showed an average score of 50.78. On the other hand, the average behavior level is determined by an average score of 46.83 in the category "most times". The conclusion was that there was no significant difference in attitude levels between teachers according to gender, age, civil status, school type, branch, education level and service years. In terms of behavioral levels, significant differences have been found according to the age, school type, branch type and service year variables and the Anova tests. As a result, teachers should put sustainability-related courses during the university training period, and more places should be given in their educational programmes on the issues of water savings and conscious water use.

In the study, the quantitative research method that describes and explains with numerical data and the descriptive survey model that aims to examine the current situation were used. The sample of the study consists of 416 teachers working in different branches in primary, secondary and high schools in Konya in the 2021-2022 academic year. By examining the data obtained with a descriptive questionnaire model, an average score of 50.78 was obtained, which indicates that the teachers' level of attitude towards water use is high on average and the option "strongly agree". On the other hand, the average behavior level was determined in the "often" category, with an average score of 46.83. It was concluded that there was no significant difference in attitude levels among teachers according to gender, age, marital status, school type, branch, education level and years of service. In terms of behavior levels, significant differences were found according to the t-test and Anova tests performed according to age, school type, branch type and service year variable, and these differences are discussed in detail in the findings section. Suggestions were made on how to raise awareness about water use.
