Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to study the reaction times based on the playing positions in the athletes playing basketball. The survey included 50 women’s basketball players in the center of Batman. The average age of the participants in the study was 16.43±0.65 (year), the average size was 165.66±3.45 (cm), and the average weight was 62.78±3.37 (kg). In the study, the time of hearing and visual reaction of the right and left hands, based on the player's play positions, was detected using the Newtest 1000 tool. The measurement site was no-rise by taking 1 test against light and sound stimuli from athletes and then 3 measurements and the best reaction times were recorded from milliseconds. Specification Statistics used frequency and percentage distribution for average and standard deviation, standard error. Before the statistical processes passed, they were normally distributed or not, and considered whether they were homogeneous, according to which the distribution was not normally, the non-parametric tests were applied to kruskalwallis. In this study, the error level was taken as p<0,05. The analysis found that the hearing and visual reaction times of basketball players playing in the 1st area were significantly better than the basketball players playing in other areas (p<0,05). As a result, the athletes playing basketball have observed changes in reaction times depending on the areas where they play. These changes are believed to be due to the different individual training that the athletes have done according to the characteristics of the areas where they play.
