Abstract:

The desire and need to learn Turkish, which belongs to centuries ago and is one of the most spoken languages in the world, is increasing depending on the developments in many fields such as politics, economy, technology, health, sports. There are numerous centres for Turkish teaching in the country and abroad. The way of determining the words to be taught in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language passes by determining the word wealth of students and the word frequency. Individuals have two kinds of word wealth: active and passive. Active word wealth covers the words that individuals use when expressing themselves. The aim of the study is to identify the word wealth in the written narratives of Turkmenist students who learn Turkish as a foreign language. The method is used for document examination. In accordance with this goal, the words in the written narrative written by 55 students in the 3 separate C1 curriculum completion exam, where Turkmenist students are intensely involved, were transmitted to the Microsoft Word Program according to the determined standards. The Online Word Counter Program has been used to determine the frequency of words. Three different exam subjects were analyzed separately because the subjects were different. The data obtained were analyzed in terms of gender, age, section variables and presented in table. The results of the study have been compared with previous studies. The gender factor has been found to coincide with the results of current studies, and the age and division factors have not been found to coincide with the results of current studies. As a result, Turkmenistan citizens have found that the word wealth of students is insufficient.
