Sâhib Ata Fahreddin Ali, Türkiye Selçuklu Devleti döneminde hayırseverliği ile tanınan bir devlet adamıydı. Ömrüne birçok vakıf eser sığdırdı. Bunlardan birisi de 1271 yılında yaptırdığı Sivas Sâhibiye Medresesi ve Külliyesi’ydi. Medresesi ile birlikte mescidi, aşevi ve çeşmesi olan bu eser Selçuklu devrinde önemli bir ilim kurumuydu. Osmanlıların Sivas’ta egemenlik kurmaları ile birlikte şehirde bulunan Selçuklu eserleri de Osmanlı Devleti’nin hâkimiyeti altına girdi. Osmanlıların, Selçuklulardan kalan miras üzerine geliştirmiş oldukları politikalar ile bu eserler korunup, işleyişine devam ederek bir Osmanlı müessesesine dönüştü. Sivas Sâhibiye Medresesi de Osmanlı devrinde bir eğitim ve vakıf kurumu olarak faaliyetlerine devam etti. Çalışmamızda Sivas Sâhibiye Medresesi’nin Osmanlı müessesesine dönüşümü üzerinde duracağız. Bu medresenin Osmanlı devrinde bir eğitim ve vakıf kurumu olarak işleyişinden bahsedip, Sivas’ta Osmanlı devri sosyal hayatında Sâhibiye Medresesi’nin konumuna değineceğiz. Bunlara ilave olarak da zaman zaman tahrib olmuş olan bu yapının geçirdiği onarımları anlatacağız.
Sâhib Ata Fahreddin Ali was a state man known for his charity during the Turkish Selçuklu State. Many of his lifetime has been sheltered. One of them was the Sivas Sâhibiye Medresesi and Kulliyesi, which he built in 1271. This work, along with Medresesi, the mosque, the atheist and the fountain, was an important institution of science in the Selçuklu era. The Ottoman people established sovereignty in Sivas and the Selçuklu works in the city also entered the sovereignty of the Ottoman State. With the policies that the Ottoman have developed on the remaining inheritance of the Selçuklists, these works have been preserved and continued to operate and transformed into an Ottoman mosque. Sivas Sâhibiye Medresesi also continued its activities as an educational and foundation institution in the Ottoman era. In our work we will stand on the transformation of Sivas Sâhibiye Medresesi to the Ottoman mission. We will talk about the functioning of this medresen as an educational and foundation institution in the Ottoman era, and we will point to the position of the Sâhibiye Medresesi in the Ottoman era social life in Sivas. We will also tell them about the repairs of this structure that has been destroyed from time to time.
Sâhib Ata Fahreddin Ali was a statesman known for his benevolence during the period of Sultanate of Rum. Many waqfs has been constructed by him throughout his life. One of them was Sivas Sâhibiye Madrasa and Complex, which he built in 1271. This work which has a mosque, a soup kitchen and a fountain together with its madrasa, was an important scientific institution in the era of Seljuk. Due to the sovereignty of Ottomans in Sivas, Seljuk works existing at the city came under the domination of the Ottoman Empire. As a result of the policies Ottomans developed on the heritage of the Seljuks, these works were protected and turned into an Ottoman institution by continuing their function. Sivas Sâhibiye Madrasa too, continued to function as an educational institution as well as a charitable institution in the Ottoman period. This study will focus on the transformation of Sivas Sâhibiye Madrasa into an Ottoman institution. We will mention the function of this madrasa as an educational and charitable foundation in the Ottoman period and will refer to the position of Sâhibiye Madrasa in everyday life of the Ottoman period in Sivas. Lastly, we will express the repair of this building which has fallen into ruin at times.
