Abstract:

The aim of this research is to develop an analytical rubric to evaluate the written expression skills of students at the A2 level of teaching Turkish as a foreign language and to present the validity and reliability of this rubric. The data of the study were obtained by evaluating the papers of twenty-six students by five field teachers working at the center of teaching Turkish as a foreign language in two different universities. During the development of the rubric, the items were determined according to the literature review, CEFR A2 competencies and expert opinions. For the validity proof of the developed analytical rubric, the agreement between the opinions of the field teacher and the assessment and evaluation experts on each criterion and definition was evaluated with the simple agreement percentage. At the inter-rater reliability point, the Intraclass Correlation coefficient was calculated for each item. With this correlation, the percentage of inter-rater reliability agreement was calculated. As a result of the analyzes made, there was a consensus among the experts about the validity of the tool; Within the scope of reliability, it was revealed that the reliability of the evaluations between different raters was highly consistent. It has been concluded that the developed analytical rubric is a valid and reliable tool.
