Bu çalışmada ebeveynlerin sosyal medyada çocuklarına ilişkin paylaşımlarını etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, 88 ebeveynin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilen nitel bir çalışmadır. Veriler açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan çevrimiçi bir anket ile toplanmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan ebeveynlerin çoğunun sosyal medyada çocuklarına ilişkin paylaşım yaptıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. Ebeveynlerin sosyal medyada çocuklarına ilişkin paylaşım yaparken en fazla çocuklarının görünüşüne ve mahremiyetine dikkat ettikleri tespit edilmiştir. Paylaşımı etkileyen faktörler arasında ebeveynlerin sosyal çevreleri ile iletişimde kalma faktörünün öne çıktığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca bazı ebeveynlerin özel günleri kalıcı hale getirmek istemeleri ve yaptıkları paylaşımların kendilerini mutlu hissettirmesi dikkat çeken diğer faktörlerdir. Ebeveynlerin sosyal medyada çocuğuna ilişkin paylaşımlarından doğabilecek yasal süreçler hakkında yeterli düzeyde bilgiye sahip olmadıkları sonucuna varılmıştır.
This study aims to identify the factors that influence parents’ sharing about their children on social media. The study is a qualitative study conducted with the participation of 88 parents. The data was collected with an online survey consisting of open end questions. Most of the parents who participated in the study revealed that they shared their children on social media. Parents have been found to pay most attention to their child’s appearance and privacy when sharing about their children on social media. It has been shown that among the factors that influence the sharing is the factor of the parents' stay in communication with their social environments. Also, some parents want to make their special days permanent and other factors that make them feel happy with their sharing. The conclusion is that parents do not have sufficient knowledge about the legal processes that may arise from their social media sharing about their child.
In this study, it was aimed to determine the factors affecting parents' share on social media about their children. This is a qualitative study which was conducted with the participation of 88 parents. Data were collected through an online questionnaire consisting of open-ended questions. It was revealed that most of parents participating in the study posted about their children on social media. It was determined that parents mostly pay attention to the children’s appearance and privacy while sharing posts regarding their children on social media. It has been observed that among the factors affecting sharing, the factor of staying in contact with the social environment of the parents stands out. Besides, some parents' desire to make special days permanent and the fact that their shares make them feel happy were other factors which draw attention. It was concluded that the parents did not have sufficient knowledge about the legal processes that may arise from their social media posts.
