Abstract:

In the service sector there is a separate importance due to the quality, quality and working conditions of health services. The pandemic that affects the whole world has created anxiety and fear, and the conditions have become very difficult. Health workers are faced with many risks in difficult conditions. The risk of infection, uncertainty, fatal consequences, away from the family significantly affect health workers. Patients who apply to the health institution are in fear and concern during the treatment and care process for reasons such as uncertainty they encounter, disease status and lack of information. The nurses are expected to have a tolerant and comprehensive approach, empathy, and psychological support while taking care of their patients. In this sense, the concept of emotional labour has an important place in the nursing profession. With emotional work, the nurse makes it feel better by giving confidence to the patient with anxiety and anxiety. It is also an important fact in the professions that are constantly interacting with people. Nurses try to provide services with long and intense hours of work, under stress, with insufficient resources. Under these conditions they can experience processes such as fatigue, fatigue, insensitivity to work. The experience of the nurse’s exhaust significantly affects their performance in the work environment, their work motivations. It is very important for nurses who try to trust their patients with emotional work but feel exhausted by many negative factors to provide the necessary support of the institution managers in this process. In this sense, feeling valuable in the institution, providing service in appropriate conditions in a healthy working environment will affect the motivation and performance of the nurses. It is very important that the institutional managers take care of emotional work and exhaust during the pandemic period, take the necessary measures and provide support to employees. This study was prepared as a collection aimed at evaluating the processes of emotional labour and exhaust in nurses during the pandemic period.
