Abstract:

The aim of this study is to conduct an analysis of the activity of a total of 17 deposit banks, including 3 public capital, 8 private capital and 6 foreign capital, which have been continuously operating in the banking sector in Turkey in the period 2000-20018. According to the capital structure, banks that are active within public, private and foreign capital banks have been identified. In the survey, the average of the banks on the basis of the years, with a rate of 98.20% of T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş., with a rate of 99.09 % among private capital banks, Akbank A.Ş. And among foreign capital banks, it is also found that Denizbank is more effective than others at 91.84%. Three banks with the highest level of activity rankings in the banks were, respectively, the ÖSAKB, KSZB and KSHB. The study found that the average performance levels obtained over the years in the framework of the input-out variables used by the data coverage analysis of the deposit banks are usually similar to each other. In the analysis of all the banks undergoing the study, the general reputation of the economic crises was one year before the beginning and one year after the beginning, with the exception of the periods that followed the beginning, the bank’s activity was usually over 90 percent. The 2001 economic crisis has affected more bank activities than the 2008 crisis.
