Abstract:

This study was designed by examining the contents of the Public Staff Selection Examination (KPSS) and the contents of the courses given in the educational faculty and the efficiency of Science Knowledge Teacher candidates according to the opinions. The content of the Public Staff Selection Examination (KPSS) and the content of the courses given in the educational faculty’s convergence and efficiency of Science Knowledge was studied in the light of the opinions of the teachers candidates. For this purpose, the Bayburt University and Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Education Faculty's Primary Education Department of Science and Information Teaching Department of Anabolic Studies with a total of 14 final class students who are studying have been held semi-structured conversations. This study was carried out in accordance with the research approach, the case study method was used and the data obtained was subject to content analysis. According to the research results, teaching candidates have stated that the processing of the courses given at the faculty is insufficient in preparing students for the KPSS and even cannot prepare them for the KPSS. In addition, teachers candidates have noted that the content in KPSS and the courses given in the educational faculty are partially matching. Teacher candidates pointed out that the courses given in the educational faculty are not sufficient to succeed in the KPSS and that some changes in the training given in the educational faculty should be made in order to the desired success of the KPSS.
