Abstract This article aims to reflect on young immigrant children in early childhood education institutions, seeking to problematize the issue of immigration, early childhood, welcoming and other social relations present in this stage of education. Then, it brings academic production on childhood and immigration, presents some data of a research carried out at a Municipal School of Early Childhood Education (EMEI), in the city of São Paulo, between 2018 and 2019, with Bolivian children, a very expressive nationality in the city of São Paulo. At the end, points out the little research on young immigrant children and proposes a policy of welcoming and staying of these children in centres and schools of early childhood education, derived from and in line with legislation already built by the municipality.
