Abstract This text presents reflections on the production of meanings on the experiences of contemporary migration in the context of education. This is a teaching experience and analysis of the interfaces of socio-cultural differences and educational practices experienced by Senegalese children with Brazilian children in the context of the early years of the municipal public school of the city of São Paulo - Brazil. In this context, migration and childhoods are potentializing in the discussion about the education of ethnic-racial relations and human rights built in the daily life of educational institutions.
