Abstract:

The ultimate aim of social sciences is to understand, explain and make sense of the events, facts, objects and social life in all aspects. The main purpose of economics, which is a social science, is to examine human economic behavior and its social reflections.While quantitative and qualitative explanation methods for this purpose are used as a tool in many disciplines, explaining historical events and facts with quantitative data based on the dominant paradigm may be insufficient for the philosophy of social sciences. The basic starting point in the quantitative understanding of todays economics is the past studies of the history of economic thought, which makes the history of economic thought and modern economic history interdependent. In this study, in the context of the method of traditional economic thought, periodizations made in the history of Islamic economics will be evaluated.
