19. yüzyılda halk bilimi disiplininin doğuşunu hazırlayan ilk çalışmalar kırsalda yapıldığı için folklorun araştırma sahası olarak köyler ve kasabalara odaklanılması gerektiğini varsayan bir yaklaşım, hem dünyada hem de Türkiye’de halk bilimi disiplininde yürütülen çalışmalarda uzun müddet hâkim bakış açısı olarak benimsenmiştir. Zaman içinde kentlerin hızlı bir biçimde büyümesi ve küreselleşmenin büyük kentlerde etkisini göstermesinden ötürü yerel kültürlerin yaşamasına karşı tehdit oluşturduğunun düşünülmesi sebebiyle önceden yayılma ve yaşama alanı “kırsal”la sınırlandırılan folklorun kentlerde kaybolduğu, kırsalda da unutulmaya başladığı algısı doğmuştur. Hâlbuki modern yazarların eserlerinde folklor unsurlarının onların kurgu dünyasını zenginleştirerek metinlere farklı bir derinlik kazandırdığı görülmekte, böylece hem folklorun hem de sözlü anlatı geleneğinin çeşitli tekniklerinin modern edebiyatın eserleri aracılığıyla gelecek nesillere aktarıldığı/hatırlatıldığı gözlemlenmektedir. Bilindiği üzere, modern Türk edebiyatında da hikâyelerinde ve/veya romanlarında eserlerini Türk folklorundan ilham aldığı unsurlarla besleyen başarılı yazarlar bulunmaktadır. Bu bildiride 1990 sonrası Türk öykücülüğünün öne çıkan yazarlarından Faruk Duman’ın 2023’te yayımlanan Kargasabunu kitabındaki hikâyelerde yazarın okurlarına tanıttığı/hatırlattığı halk bilimi unsurları tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra, Duman’ın söz konusu kitaptaki hikâyeleri anlatı teknikleri açısından değerlendirilerek yazarın üslubunun bu hikâyelerde modern hikâyeden uzaklaşarak masal ve halk hikâyesi türlerine yaklaştığı, ancak üslubu sözlü edebiyat geleneğine yaklaşırken yazarın doğanın tahrip edilmesi gibi güncel meselelere dikkat çektiği, böylece aslında küresel bir sorunu yerel folklor unsurlarından ve sözlü kültürümüzden faydalanarak tartıştığı gösterilmiştir. Kargasabunu’nun modern insanın sözlü edebiyat geleneğine halen ihtiyaç duyduğunu gösteren bir öykü kitabı olduğuna dikkat çekilerek Duman’ın bu hikâyeler aracılığıyla okura hangi mesajları vermeye çalışmış olabileceği tartışılmıştır. Hikâyeler ekoeleştiri ve uygulamalı halk bilimi kuramlarından destek alınarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda Kargasabunu’nun güncel çevre sorunlarını Türk folklorunun ve sözlü edebiyatın çeşitli unsurları ve araçlarından destek alarak işlemesi sebebiyle ekofolklorik bakışı yansıtan bir eser olduğu anlaşılmıştır.
In the 19th century, the first studies preparing the birth of the discipline of public science were done in the countryside, a approach that assumes that the research field of folklore should be focused on villages and towns, both in the world and in Turkey in the studies carried out in the discipline of public science has been adopted as a long-term judge perspective. With time, the perception that cities are rapidly growing and the influence of globalization in the big cities is a threat to the life of local cultures has emerged because of the perception that the predetermined spread and living area is limited to the " rural" and that the folklore is lost in the cities, and that it is beginning to be forgotten in the rural. Nevertheless, in the works of modern writers, it is seen that the folklore elements enrich their fictional world and give texts a different depth, so it is observed that the various techniques of both folklore and verbal narrative tradition are transmitted through the works of modern literature to the future generations. As it is known, in modern Turkish literature there are also successful writers in their stories and/or novels that feed their works with elements inspired by Turkish folklore. In this statement, the public science elements that the author presented to the readers in the stories of Faruk Duman’s Kargasabunu book published in 2023 from the outstanding authors of the Turkish history after 1990 were identified. In addition, it has been shown that Duman, evaluating the stories in the book in terms of the narrative techniques, the writer's style approached the types of fairy tales and folk stories in these stories, but the style approached the verbal literary tradition, the writer attracted attention to current issues such as the destruction of nature, so that he actually discussed a global problem by taking advantage of the local folklore elements and our verbal culture. Noting that Kargasabunu is a story book that shows that modern man still needs the verbal literary tradition, it is discussed which messages Duman may have tried to give to the reader through these stories. Stories are studied by support from ecologist and practical public science theories. At the end of the study, it was understood that Kargasabunu is a work that reflects the current environmental problems because of the support of the Turkish folklore and the various elements and tools of verbal literature.
