Hicri II. asırdan itibaren yazılmaya başlanan kırk hadisler, zamanla bir geleneğe dönüşmüş ve tarih boyunca çok sayıda kırk hadis kaleme alınmıştır. Kırk hadisler daha çok Hz. Peygamber’in kısa, veciz ve ezberlenmesi kolay hadislerinin seçilmesiyle oluşturulmuştur. İnanç, ibadet ve ahlâk konularıyla birlikte sosyal hayata yönelik dini pratik bilgileri içermesi; dini konularda yeterli bilgi sahibi olmayan geniş halk kitleleri tarafından okunup anlaşılabilir olması gibi nedenlerden dolayı “Kırk Hadisler”’ din eğitimi açısından önemli görülmüştür. Abdurrahman Câmî tarafından yazılan manzum Çihl Hadis’in kırk hadis geleneğinde önemli bir yere sahip olduğunu söyleyebiliriz. Birçok dini ve ahlâki ilkeyi barındıran eserde; örnek bir Müslümanın taşıması gereken vasıfları, ideal bir toplumdaki insani ilişkileri konu alan hadislere yer verilmiştir. Eseri kırk hadis geleneğinde önemli kılan özelliklerden bir tanesi şiir dilini kırk hadis geleneğinde başlatmış olması diyebiliriz. Kırk hadis tarihinde ilk manzum kırk hadis kaleme alan Abdurrahman Câmî, kendisinden sonra yazılan kırk hadislere örnek olmuştur. Osmanlıda etkin bir şekilde kullanılan ve İslami ilimler başta olmak üzere tıptan astronomiye her alanda kullanılan şiir dili, Abdurrahman Câmî sonrası kırk hadislerde yoğun bir şekilde kullanılmıştır. Şiir dilinin kırk hadislerde kullanılmasıyla beraber Osmanlı ve diğer milletlerden çok sayıda şair, kırk hadis yazmıştır. Kırk hadislerde şiir dilinin kullanılmasıyla beraber az kelimeyle çok şey ifade edilmiş, şiirin ahengiyle hadislerin mesajı hafızada kolayca yer etmiş ve duygulara hitap edilerek insanları etkilemiştir.

Throughout history, there are a lot of “40 hadith” written. 40 hadith include mostly short, concise, and easy to memorize which is the hadith of the Holy Prophet. 40 Hadith’s include religious practice information about social life along with the subjects of belief, worship, and morality; “Forty Hadith’s” were considered important in terms of religious education, for reasons, for example, being readable and clear by most people who don’t have enough information on religion major. We can say that the poetic Cihl Hadith written by Abdurrahman Cami has an essential place in the Forty Hadith tradition. In that work, there is a lot of religious and moral principles; The hadiths about the qualities that an exemplary Muslim should have and the human relations in an ideal society are included. On the other hand, Cihl Hadith played an influential role in starting the language of poetry in the Forty Hadith tradition. Abdurrahman Cami, who wrote the first forty hadith with the language of poetry in the history of Forty Hadith, serves as a model for Forty Hadith’s written after him. The language of poetry, which was used effectively in the Ottoman Empire and used in every major from medicine to astronomy, especially in Islamic sciences after Abdurrahman Cami.
