Abstract:

Türklerin ikinci bir dil olarak Arap dilini seçmeleri, müslümanlığı kabul ettikleri tarihe kadar gerilere gitmektedir. Devlet olarak İslam’ı seçen Türkler, katıldıkları yeni toplumun bilgi değerlerini de kabul etmişlerdir. Arap dili bu bilgi sisteminin aracı olunca, bu dilin öğrenimi, bilgilenme sürecinin bir basamağını teşkil etmiştir. Ancak, çok eskilere giden bu dil tecrübesinin, iyi ayarlanmış, neredeyse on asra ulaşan süreçte, toplumu Araplaştırmayan bir yapısı olmuştur. Bunun, üzerinde iyi düşünülmüş bir plan sonucu gerçekleştiği kanaatindeyiz. Dilin kutsal sınırları yerli yerinde çizilmiştir.
