Abstract:

It is important to use effective methods in the teaching process of target skills that are needed for individuals with developmental disabilities. In the process of presenting lessons to individuals by effective methods, the practitioners can use individual teaching arrangements and small group teaching arrangements. In the field, the small group teaching has some advantages compared to the individual teaching arrangement. In a small group of teaching arrangements, individuals can have the opportunity to learn by observing. This article aims to study the research in which small group teaching arrangements are used in the teaching process of chain skills and where the planning of learning is done by observation. The research achieved within the framework of the study has been thoroughly analyzed and evaluated in terms of "singular research quality standards". The reviewed research has shown that small group teaching arrangements are effective in the acquisition of chaining skills for individuals with developmental deficiency. The research also found that the group members observed and learned the skills of the other group members. The findings obtained in this context have been discussed within the framework of the field in recommendations to practitioners and researchers.
