Abstract:

Republic of Turkey's founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, which is a title of supreme patriotism and military genius was a leader known by many features, such as multidisciplinarity and farsightedness. However, there was another important aspect of Atatürk; Journalism. Throughout his life, Atatürk attached special importance to journalism, published, printed newspapers, and saw his journalistic activities as an important part of the defense of the homeland. Such that: Starting from his student years, he experienced with journalism, published newspapers during the national struggle, encouraged its publication, acted as editor and supported journalistic activities. The aim of this study is to show that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is interested in journalism and journalism activities and directly supports journalism activities during the national struggle period. Within the scope of the study, Minber, İrade-i Milliye and Hakimiyet-i Milliye newspapers, in which Atatürk was personally involved in the establishment and publication activities, were handled and evaluated in terms of publication policy.
