The aim of this study is to study the career obstacles of women academics who provide sports education based on the variables of the exposure to harassment, organizational commitment and job satisfaction. The universe of research in the characteristic type was formed by 371 women academics working at the BESYO and Sports Sciences Faculty in Turkey. Without going to the sample selection, the entire universe has been taken into the research scope and the research has been completed with 310 women academics. The survey’s coverage rate is 83.8%. The data collection tool of the research consists of two sections. In the first section, women academics were addressed with questions about the exposure to harassment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In the second part, the Career Disadvantages Scale of Women Academics was developed by Alaçam and Altuntaş (2015) and used. The data is evaluated in the SPSS package program and the number, percentage, is expressed as an average. In the analysis, the t test and ANOVA were used in independent groups. The career obstacle perceptions of women academics exposed to the act of harassment have been higher than women academics not exposed to the act of harassment. As women’s academics feel job satisfaction and organizational commitment increases, the perception of career barriers also decreases.
