Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to identify the impact of the Electronic Visual Dictionary software developed for high school 5th grade students on word learning success. The research was carried out according to the experimental model of the pre-test-final test control group. The research was carried out in the 5th grade of Aksu Şehit Hakan Shipyard High School in Giresun. The examples were determined to be sufficient for the application of the school's sub-structure characteristics. The use of smart sheet in the fifth class in the specified high school, the skills of teachers to use smart sheet and e-learning software have been effective in the school's choice. In addition, the word pool of the Electronic Visual Dictionary 5. The subject of the reading culture in the class Turkish curriculum is limited to the word treasure and the meaning subject in the word. Two of the 5th class branches are randomly identified as a test (n=35) and the other two branches are randomly identified as a control group (n=35) Word teaching studies in experimental groups have been carried out using Electronic Visual Dictionary, while in control groups with traditional teaching. The research data was collected with the Word meaning success test that was developed for application. At the end of the study, the results of the control and experiment groups were similar when the pre-test average for the subject of the meaning in the word was evaluated separately; however, the latest test data found that there was a statistically significant difference in favor of the experiment group. This result shows that in the success of word teaching, Electronic Visual Dictionary is a method and tool more effective than traditional teaching.
