OKUL YÖNETİCİLERİNİN LİDERLİK YÖNELİMLERİNİN BELİRLENMESİ: SİNOP İLİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract:

Okullar eğitim ve öğretim hizmetinin sunulduğu örgütlerdir. Dolayısıyla okulların birey, devlet ve toplum için önemli konuma sahip oldukları söylenebilir. Bu bağlamda okulların kaliteli eğitim ve öğretim hizmetinde bulunmaları gerekmektedir.  Bir okulun eğitim ve öğretim hizmet sunumunun kalitesini etkileyen faktörlerin başında liderlik ve motivasyon gelmektedir. Okullarda yöneticilerin sergiledikleri liderlik davranışları çalışanların motivasyonunu olumlu/olumsuz etkileyerek okulun başarısına etki etmektedir. Bu çalışmada Sinop ili örneğinden hareketle okul yöneticilerinin liderlik yönelimlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada okul yöneticilerinin görev yönelimli liderler veya insan yönelimli liderler olup olmadıkları ve bu liderlik davranışları arasındaki ilişki durumu araştırılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 58 ilköğretim ve ortaöğretim okul müdüründen anket tekniği kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda okul yöneticilerinin hem görev yönelimli hem de insan yönelimli liderler oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca okul yöneticilerinin görev yönelimli liderlik davranışları ile insan yönelimli davranışları arasında orta düzeyde pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Genel olarak, okul yöneticilerinin liderlik yönelimlerinin oldukça yüksek düzeyde olduğunu söylemek mümkündür.

Schools are the organizations where education and training services are offered. Therefore, it can be said that schools have an important position for individual, state and society. In this context, schools should provide quality education and training services. Leadership and motivation are among the factors that affect the quality of a school’s education and training. Leadership behaviors displayed by the managers in schools affect the motivation of employees positively/negatively and affect the success of the school. In this study, it is aimed at determining the leadership orientations of school managers from the case of Sinop. In this study, the relationship between the school managers’ task-oriented leaders or human-oriented leaders and the relationship between these leadership behaviors were investigated. For this purpose, data were collected from 58 primary and secondary school principles by using questionnaire technique. As a result of data analysis, it was found that school managers were both task-oriented and human-oriented leaders. In addition, it was found that there was a moderately positive relationship between task-oriented leadership behaviors and human-oriented behaviors of school managers. In general, it is possible to say that the school managers’ leadership orientations are quite high.
