Abstract:

This meta-analytical study aimed to investigate research pertaining to work engagement within educational institutions using the meta-analysis method. To achieve this goal, a meta-evaluation was conducted, incorporating thirteen studies that met the predefined inclusion criteria. This collective effort involved the analysis of data from 6,494 sample groups. In determining the appropriate meta-analysis model for the study, an initial step involved creating a funnel-like graphical representation to visually assess potential publication bias. Subsequent statistical calculations were then employed to arrive at a definitive conclusion. The results from both the diagrams and statistical assessments collectively indicated the absence of any systematic bias errors across the studies included in the meta-analysis. Once the absence of publication bias was established, a heterogeneity test was conducted to ascertain the most suitable model for interpretation. Based on the analysis outcomes, the decision was made to interpret the meta-analysis findings utilizing the random effect model. Two moderators were identified for the meta-analysis: the type of publication and the nature of the thesis. However, subsequent analysis indicated that neither of these factors played a moderating role in the context of work engagement. The culmination of the meta-analysis study revealed a positive impact of studies focused on work engagement within educational institutions. Furthermore, the investigation determined that neither the type of publication nor the nature of the thesis exerted a moderating influence on the concept of work engagement.
