Abstract:

This study aims to study the role of hope in the relationship between high school students’ school satisfaction and life satisfaction. Relational scan model was used in the research. The study group consists of 105 girls and 106 boys studying in three different secondary schools located in the province of Tokat in the 2018-2019 educational year. The study’s data was collected using the comprehensive school scale for children, the scale of life scale for children and the scale of hope for children. The study used independent sampling t-test, one-way variance analysis, structural equality modeling and verifying factor analysis. According to the research findings, high school students’ school satisfaction levels have varied significantly in favor of male students according to gender. In other words, the levels of hope and life satisfaction of students have not varied significantly according to the gender variable. In the study, the hope and life satisfaction scores of high school students vary statistically significantly according to the class level variable, while the school satisfaction scores did not vary significantly according to the class level variable. In the structural equality modeling, it is determined that high school students have a part of the role of hope in the relationship between school satisfaction and life satisfaction. It is believed that this result could be used in high school students’ life satisfaction increases. It can also be said that the findings obtained in the research will be a basis for the research that will be carried out in the field in the future.
