Abstract:

The relationship between the patient and the doctor may have a positive or negative impact on all the health care services provided. This relationship has changed over time, but the information advantage that the doctor has against the patient when providing health care has not changed. This advantage, called the doctor’s information asymmetry, causes the doctor to make a decision on behalf of the patient and to form a relationship between them. This relationship of advocacy can sometimes cause ethical problems such as unnecessary service demand by some doctors, medical misuse. It is intended to identify the views of teachers regarding the problems that may arise in the health care services provided by doctors. The research was conducted by 250 teachers. The scores of the survey, the doctor's uncertainty, ethical problems, material interests, unnecessary demand and medical misuse were determined, the participation in the scores was found at a medium level. Participants believe that most pharmaceutical companies are asking for unnecessary services due to promotions and financial insatisfaction. The majority of participants participate in their relationships with doctors, but the latest examination/treatment is decided by the doctors. There was a significant difference between the gender and age of the teachers. Participants think that there may be some problems in their relationships with doctors, but their participation in these problems remains quite low, especially in the scale of ethical problems.
