Araştırmada, Kıbrıs’ta 1974 yılından günümüze kadar siyasi iktidarların tarih eğitimindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu etkiler orta dereceli okullarda okutulan tarih dersi kitaplarının içerik açısından incelenmesiyle ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda içerik analizi yöntemi esas alınarak eğitim literatüründe bulunan Kıbrıs Tarihi ders kitaplarına (1974-2016) yer verilmiştir. Araştırmanın konusu olan 1974-2016 tarihleri arasında kullanılan Kıbrıs Tarihi ders kitapları adadaki siyasal iktidarların değişim süreçlerine denk gelerek basımları yenilenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda ortaya çıkan bulgularda 1974 yılında basılan Kıbrıs Tarihi ders kitaplarının ilgili dönemin siyasi iktidarının dünya görüşüne uygun olduğu ve öğrencilere “Türklük bilinci” kazandırılması yönünde yoğunlaştığı görülmektedir. 1994 basımlı Kıbrıs Tarihi ders kitaplarında önceki basımına nazaran daha yumuşak bir görüş benimsense de kısa süre sonra güncellenen versiyonuyla eski haline geri dönülmüştür. 2004 yılında basılan kitaplar ise öncekilere göre gerek şekilsel gerekse de içerik yönünden büyük farklılıklar içermesine rağmen dönemin siyasi iktidarının benimsediği “Kıbrıslık Bilincini” öğrencilere kazandırılmaya yönelik olduğunu görülmektedir. Fakat 2009 basımlı kitaplarının yine mevcut siyasi iktidarın görüşüne uygun olarak “Türklük Bilinci” idealini kazandırılmaya yönelik olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Sonuç olarak 1974-2016 tarihleri arasında basılan Kıbrıs Tarihi ders kitapları bazı farklılıklar içermelerine karşın bütün kitapların ortak noktası içinde bulunduğu dönemin siyasi ideolojisinden etkilenmeleridir.
The study has studied the impact of political powers in the history of Cyprus from 1974 to today. These effects were tried to be revealed by the study of the contents of the history lessons taught in the middle schools. The research model was used in the study. In this context, the method of content analysis is based on the Cyprus History Curriculum Books (1974-2016) found in educational literature. The Cyprus History curriculum used between the years 1974-2016, which is the subject of the study, has been renewed by the processes of change of political powers on the island. The findings from the study show that the 1974 Cyprus History curriculum books are based on the political power of the relevant period in accordance with the worldview and are focused on giving students "Turkish consciousness". Although a more soft view was adopted in the 1994 Cyprus History curriculum books compared to the previous edition, it soon returned to its old version with its updated version. The books printed in 2004 and in comparison with the previously formally, although they contain great differences in terms of content, it is seen that the "Cyprus Consciousness" that the political power of the period adopted is aimed at giving students. But it is clear that 2009 printed books are again aimed at obtaining the ideal of "Turkish Consciousness" in accordance with the view of the current political power. As a result, the Cyprus History curricula published between 1974 and 2016 is influenced by the political ideology of the period where all books are in common, although they include some differences.
