Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin okul bittikten sonra meslek edinmelerine ilişkin inançlarını, mesleklerinin kendilerine uygunluğu ile ilgili beklentilerini içeren mesleki sonuç beklentilerinin yaşam doyumu üzerindeki yordama gücünü belirlemektir. Yöntem: Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında İnönü Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören olan 473 (272 kız; 201 erkek) öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada, veri toplama araçları olarak “Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği”, “Mesleki Sonuç Beklentileri Ölçeği” ve “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Kişisel bilgi formunda yer alan verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler (aritmetik ortalama, yüzde), mesleki sonuç beklentisi ile yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesinde regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırma sonucunda Spor Bilimlerinde okuyan öğrencilerin okudukları bölümü kendilerine uygun görme ve memnuniyet düzeylerine ilişkin algılarının daha yüksek olduğu, Tıp Fakültesinde okuyan öğrencilerin ise iş bulma olasılıklarını diğer fakülte öğrencilerine göre daha yüksek algıladıkları görülmüştür. Araştırmanın diğer bir bulgusu da mesleki sonuç beklentisinin üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşam doyumlarının %29’unu açıklamasıdır. Sonuçlar ve Öneriler: Bu araştırmada üniversite öğrencilerinin yaşam doyumlarının temel belirleyicilerinden birinin mesleki sonuç beklentisi olduğu görülmüştür. Bu durum bize üniversite öğrencilerinin en temel beklentilerinin eğitimlerini tamamladıktan sonra eğitimlerine uygun alanlarda iş bulma ve bu işte yeteneklerini kullanmaya dair beklentileridir. Bu nedenle özellikle üniversitelerde kariyer merkezlerinin kurularak öğrencilerin eğitimlerini tamamladıktan sonra neler yapabileceklerine dair uzmanlar tarafından yönlendirmeler yapılmalıdır.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the predictive power of vocational outcome expectations on life satisfaction, including the beliefs of university students that they have acquired a profession after their schooling and their expectations about the suitability of their professions. Design & Methodology: Study group consists of 473 (272 females, 201 male) students who were studying at Inonu University in 2018. Satisfaction with life scale, vocational outcome expectation scale and personal information form are used as data collection tools. In order to analyze data of personal information form, descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, percentage) are applied to the data set. On the other hand, regression analysis is implemented to analyze the relationship between satisfaction with life scale and profession outcome expectation scale. Findings: According to the outcome of the research, students of sports sciences have higher sense of satisfaction levels and higher relationship of profession-character match. Moreover, medical faculty students' sense of finding a job is higher than the other students. Another finding of research is that, vocational outcome expectation explains 29% of satisfaction of the life of the students. Implications & Suggestions: In this study, it was seen that one of the main determinants of life satisfaction of university students is vocational outcome expectation. This is the most basic expectation of university students after they have completed their education in finding suitable jobs for their education and their expectations of using their skills in this job. For this reason, especially in universities, career centers should be established and experts should be guided about what they can do after completing their education.
