Resim Sanatında Kahve ve Kahvehaneler Konusu Üzerine Bir Çalışma

Kahve, 16. Yüzyılda gündelik hayatın içine yerleşerek, sohbetin, sosyalleşmenin, zihinsel rahatlamanın ve konukseverliğin bir simgesi olarak kabul görmüştür. Kahvenin insanlar üzerindeki bu büyülü etkisi, kahvehanelerin ortaya çıkmasını sağladı. Bu çalışmada, kahvenin kökeni, kahvehanelerin ortaya çıkışını, Osmanlıdan günümüze kahvehaneler ve Osmanlı döneminde Kahire, Halep, Şam, Selanik ve İran kahvehanelerine değinilmiş. Kahvenin İstanbul’a gelişi ve İstanbul kahvehaneleri söz konusu edilmiş ve çalışmanın asıl konusunu oluşturan resim sanatında kahve ve kahvehane konusu bağlamında, Avrupalı ressamların resimlerinde bar, kafe, kırathane, kahve ve kahvehane mekanlarını resimlerine konu edinen, Jean-Léon Gerome, Jose Benlliure Gil, Edwin Lord Weeks, Ludwing Deutsch, William Henry Bartlett, Ivan Konstantinovich Aıvazosky, Charles Emile, Carl Spıtzwing Wolfsfield Eric gibi sanatçıların eserlerine yer verilerek, Paul Cezanne ve Vincent van Gogh’un birer eseri açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Türk resminde ise kahvehane konusunu resmeden, Osman Hamdi Bey, Hoca Ali Rıza, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Sabri Fettah Berkel, Nedim Günsür, Fikret Muallâ, Fevzi Karakoç, Mehmet Başbuğ ve Mehmet Göktepe gibi ressamların kahvehaneyi konu alan eserleri değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

The Coffee 16. In the century, settling into daily life, it has been accepted as a symbol of conversation, socialization, mental relaxation and hospitality. This magical effect of coffee on people made the cafes appear. In this study, the origin of coffee, the appearance of coffee shops, from Ottoman to modern coffee shops and coffee shops in the Ottoman period, Cairo, Halep, Damascus, Thessaloniki and Iran. The arrival of coffee to Istanbul and the Istanbul cafés were discussed and the main subject of the work was the subject of coffee and coffee in the painting art, in the paintings of European painters the paintings of bars, cafes, crateras, coffee and coffee shops, Jean-Léon Gerome, Jose Benlliure Gil, Edwin Lord Weeks, Ludwing Deutsch, William Henry Bartlett, Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazosky, Charles Emile, Carl Spıtzwing Wolfsfield Eric, a work of Paul Cezanne and Vincent van Gogh was attempted to describe by the work of artists such as William Henry Bartlett, Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazosky, Charles Emile, Carl Spıtzwing Wolfsfield Eric. In the Turkish painting, from painting the topic of the coffee shop, Osman Hamdi Bey, Hoca Ali Rıza, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Sabri Fettah Berkel, Nedim Günsür, Fikret Muallâ, Fevzi Karakoç, Mehmet Başbuğ and Mehmet Göktepe have been tried to evaluate the works of painters about the coffee shop.

Coffee has been accepted as a symbol for chatting, socialization, mental relaxation, and hospitality by settling into daily life in the 16th century. This magical effect of coffee on people led to the emergence of coffeehouses. The present study aims to discuss the following aspects with regard to coffee: the origin and emergence of coffee. The existence of coffeehouses has been mentioned in different parts of the world in the Ottoman period, some of them were Cairo, Aleppo, Damascus, Thessaloniki, and Iran. This study investigates coffeehouse and their arrival to İstanbul, within this context it also refers to paintings of European painters such as Edwin Lord Weeks, Ludwing Deutsch, William Henry Bartlett, Ivan Konstantinovich Aıvazosky, Charles Emile, Carl Spitzwing Wolfsfield Eric who use bars, cafeterias, kırathane’s, coffee and coffeehouses in their paintings and also mention is made to Paul Cezanne and Vincent van Gogh's works. In the realism of Turkish paintings, the works of painters 18such as Osman Hamdi Bey, Hoca Ali Rıza, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Sabri Fettah Berkel, Nedim Günsür, Fikret Muallâ, Fevzi Karakoç, Mehmet Başbuğ, and Mehmet Göktepe have been included.
