Araştırmanın amacı Akdeniz Üniversitesi Alman Dili ve Edebiyatı mezunlarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum ve öz-yetkinlik algılarının belirlenmesi ve karşılaştırılmasıdır. Bu amaçla araştırmada Çetin (2006) tarafından geliştirilen öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum ölçeği ile Baloğlu ve Karadağ (2008) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan öğretmen yetkinlik ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçekten elde edilen verilere ek olarak araştırma kapsamında demografik bilgiler ve 10 sorudan oluşan kişisel bilgi formuna verilen cevaplar toplanmıştır. Alman Dili ve Edebiyatı mezunlarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum ve öz-yetkinliklerinin ilk defa belirlenmesi, karşılaştırılması ve farklı değişkenlerle ilişkisinin incelenmesi çalışmanın önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca araştırma kapsamında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Alman Dili ve Edebiyatı mezunlarının Formasyon Sertifika programına katılım oranları, öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelme sebepleri, Akdeniz Üniversitesinde Almanca Öğretmenliği ve Almanca Mütercim Tercümanlık bölümlerinin olması durumunda seçme eğiliminde olup olmadıkları da araştırılmaktadır. Araştırma sonucundan, Akdeniz Üniversitesi Alman Dili ve Edebiyatı mezunlarının öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutum düzeylerinin ve öğretmen öz yetkinlik algılarının yüksek olduğu ve Almanca Öğretmenliği bölümünün açılması durumunda öğrencilerinin yarısından fazlasının tercih edeceği sonucuna varılmıştır. Almanca Öğretmenliği bölümünün açılmaması durumunda ise Akdeniz Üniversitesi Alman Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümünün seçmeli derslerine Almanca öğretmenliği Alan derslerinin ilave edilmesi gerektiği önerilmiştir.
The aim of the study is to determine and compare Department of Akdeniz University German Language and Literature graduates' perceptions of attitudes and self-efficacy towards teaching profession. For this purpose, the attitude scale towards the teaching profession developed by Çetin (2006) and the teacher competence scale adapted to Turkish by Baloğlu and Karadağ (2008) were used in the study. In addition to the data obtained from the scale, demographic information and answers to the personal information form consisting of 10 questions were collected within the scope of the study. The determination and comparison of the attitudes and self-competencies of Department of German Language and Literature graduates’ towards the teaching profession for the first time and their relationship with different variables reveal the importance of the study. In addition, within the scope of the research, the participation rates of Akdeniz University Department of German Language and Literature graduates in the Formation Certificate program, the reasons for their orientation to the teaching profession, and whether they have a tendency to choose in the case of German Teaching and German Translation and Interpretation departments at Akdeniz University are also investigated. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the graduates' attitude levels towards the teaching profession and their perceptions of teacher self-efficacy are high and that more than half of the Department of German Language and Literature students would prefer if the German Teaching department was opened. If the Department of German Language and Literature is not opened, it is suggested that the elective courses of the Akdeniz University German Language and Literature department should be added to the German Language Teaching Field courses.
