Bu çalışmada pedagojik formasyon eğitimi alan öğretmen adaylarının pedagojik formasyon eğitimi sertifika programına ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik algılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının sertifika programına yönelik algılarının tespiti için kullanılan metaforlar, öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik algılarının tespiti için kullanılan zihin haritaları ve görüş formu çalışmanın veri kaynaklarını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgu bilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde, Ege Bölgesindeki bir devlet üniversitesinde açılan pedagojik formasyon sertifika programına devam eden toplam 48 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarının bu programa yönelik oluşturdukları metaforlar içerik analizi tekniği kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Metaforların analizi sonucunda formasyon programının kendilerini geliştiren, sorumluluk gerektiren, bütünleyen ve hızla meslek edindiren yönlerini ön plana çıkaran öğretmen adayları çoğunluktadır. Bu özelliklerin yanı sıra metaforlarında pedagojik formasyon programının daha çok yapısal özelliklerini ya da olumlu/olumsuz etkilerini vurgulayan öğretmen adayları da bulunmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik algılarının belirlenmesi amacıyla kullanılan zihin haritalarının analizi için haritalardaki geçerli kelime ya da kelime gruplarının sıklık frekansları hesaplanmıştır. Öğretmenlik mesleği ile ilgili listelenen kelimeler; “öğretmenlik mesleğinin gerektirdikleri” ve “öğretmenlik mesleğinin sağladıkları” şeklinde iki kategori altında toplanmıştır. Zihin haritalarında “öğretim”, “sevgi”, “bilgi”, “saygı/saygınlık” vb. kelimeler öğretmen adayları tarafından sıklıkla ifade edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra “para”, “statü”, “tatil”, rahatlık”, “aile onayı” vb. vurguların yoğun bir şekilde yapıldığı zihin haritalarına da rastlanmıştır. Katılımcıların formasyon programı ve öğretmenlik mesleği ile ilgili algılarının gerekçelerini belirleyebilmek amacıyla altı öğretmen adayı tarafından doldurulan görüş formları incelenmiştir. Bu formlardan elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz tekniği ile çözümlenmiş ve katılımcıların görüşleri doğrudan alıntılar yapılarak sunulmuştur. Çalışma sonuçları genellenememekle birlikte birbirine kıyasla farklı özelliklere sahip katılımcıların formasyon programına ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik algılarına ilişkin bir kesit sunmaktadır. Çalışma sonuçlarının bireylerin algılarındaki farklılıkların sebebi olabilecek etkenler ile ilgili daha derinlemesine yapılacak çalışmalara bir zemin oluşturabileceği düşünülmektedir.
This study is aimed at determining the perceptions of teachers candidates who receive pedagogical formation training to the pedagogical formation certificate program and the teaching profession. The metaphors used to identify teaching candidates’ perceptions of the certificate program, the mind maps used to identify their perceptions of the teaching profession and the view form form form form form the data sources of the study. In the study, the scientific designs of the quality research patterns were used. The research study group consists of a total of 48 students who continue to the pedagogical formation certificate program opened at a state university in the Egean region in the 2015-2016 academic year spring. The metaphors created by teachers candidates for this program have been solved using the content analysis technique. As a result of the analysis of the metaphors, the majority of the teaching candidates are teachers who develop themselves, require responsibility, integrate and quickly engage in the advance of the aspects of the formation program. In addition to these features, there are also teaching candidates in their metaphors that emphasize more the structural characteristics of the pedagogical formation program or the positive/negative effects. For the analysis of the mind maps used in order to determine the perceptions of the teaching profession of the teacher candidates, the frequency of the current word or word groups on the maps is calculated. The listed words related to the teaching profession are gathered in two categories: "what the teaching profession requires" and "what the teaching profession provides". In the mind maps, “learning”, “love”, “information”, “respect/respect” etc. Words are often expressed by teachers candidates. In addition to this, “money”, “state”, “ holiday”, comfort”, “family approval” etc. It is also found in the mind maps where the emphasis is made intensely. The opinion forms filled by six teachers candidates have been examined in order to determine the reasons for the participants' formation program and their perceptions regarding the teaching profession. The data obtained from these forms were analyzed using the visual analysis technique and the opinions of the participants were presented by making direct quotes. Although the results of the study are not generalized, it offers a cutting on the perceptions of the participants with different characteristics in comparison to the training program and the teaching profession. It is believed that the results of the study could create a foundation for deeper studies on the factors that could be the cause of the differences in the perceptions of individuals.
The aim of this study is to determine preservice teachers’ perceptions of pedagogical formation certificate program (PFCP) and the teaching profession. Data were collected using metaphors, mind maps, and feedback forms to determine participants’ perceptions of PFCP and teaching profession, respectively. Phenomenology, which is one of the qualitative research design, was used in the study. Study sample consisted of 48 PFCP students attending pedagogical formation certificate program at a university located in Aegean Region, in the spring semester of 2015-2016 academic year. Participants’ metaphors of PFCP were analyzed using content analysis. According to the results of the content analysis, the aspects of PFCP that the majority of participants emphasized were as follows: helping them improve their skills, requiring responsibility, integrating and helping them find a job quickly. Some participants’ metaphors of PFCP addressed its structural properties or positive/negative effects. Frequencies of valid words or phrases in participants’ mind maps were calculated to determine their perceptions of the teaching profession. The words pertaining to the teaching profession were listed under the categories of “requirements of the teaching profession” and “benefits of the teaching profession.” Participants frequently expressed such words as “teaching,” “love,” “knowledge,” “respect/dignity” etc. On the other hand, the emphasis on “money,” “status,” “vacation,” “comfort,” “familial approval” etc. were widely common in some mind maps. The feedback forms filled out by six participants were examined to determine the rationale for their perceptions of PFCP and the teaching profession. Data from the feedback forms were analyzed using descriptive analysis, and direct quotes were used to present participants’ perceptions and views. Although the results cannot be generalized, they present a cross-section regarding differences in participants’ perceptions of PFCP and the teaching profession. We believe that this study will pave the way for more in-depth studies on factors affecting people's perceptions.
