En temel işlevi insanlar arası iletişimi sağlamak olan dilin önde gelen yapıtaşlarının kelimeler olduğunu söylemek yerinde bir değerlendirme olacaktır. İnsanoğlu her türlü alana dair duygu, düşünce, deneyim gibi soyut olanlar başta olmak üzere edinimlerinin büyük bir bölümünü diğer insanlara aktarmada kelimeleri adeta birer elbise veya kap olarak kullanmaktadır. Söz konusu edinimlerinde meydana gelen gelişim ve değişimler nedeniyle insan, bunları ifade edip başkalarına aktarabilmek için yeni kelimelere ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Bu ihtiyaca binaen yeni yeni kelimeler türetme veya başka dillerden ödünçleme yoluna gitmektedir. Böylece dilin söz varlığı bir yandan değişip çoğalmaktayken bir yandan da söz varlığı içinde birbirine benzeyen kelimelerin ortaya çıktığı görülebilmektedir. Söz konusu durum her dil için olduğu gibi Arap dili için de geçerlidir. Arap dilinde birbirine benzeyen kelime yapıları içinde sıfat-ı müşebbehe ve mübalağalı ism-i fâil adıyla bilinen kelime kalıpları dikkati çekmektedir. Kimi kalıpları arasında benzerlik bulunan bu iki türün arasındaki farkların tespit edilmesi anlamın daha isabetli verilmesi açısından önem arz etmektedir.

In this way, the existence of the word can be changed and multiplied, while the existence of the word can also be seen as the same as the existence of the word. The case applies to the Arabic language as well as to any other language. It is important to identify the differences between these two species that are similar to some of their patterns in terms of giving the meaning more appropriate.
