Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to identify the self-regulating skills of children aged 5-6 years of age in pre-school education institutions and to reveal the relationship between self-regulating skills and some demographic characteristics. The research was carried out with 350 children in the Ankara or Yenimahalle district, which are ongoing to their official primary education maternities and official independent kindergartens. The application process of the sample is done in accordance with the sample method of the official primary school's motherhood and the most unlikely sample methods in the entire independent primary school. In the study, data collection tools were used; General Information Form for Children and Child Behavior Assessment Scale. The data analysis was carried out in the SPSS 24 package program. The research found that self-regulation skills showed a significant statistical difference according to the child’s age, gender, type of pre-school institution, family type, mother’s age, mother’s education status, mother’s profession, father’s age, father’s education status and father’s profession (p<0,05). The study also found that the number of brothers, including the child, the birth order, the year in the pre-school institution where he was, gender, family status, a significant accident, surgery or illness, the state of being a device or instrument he has been constantly used in the last six months, the state of being medications he must be constantly used and the state of being a diagnosed developmental problem in the child and the ability to self-regulate there was no meaningful relationship (p>0,05).
