The reserve painting process can be defined as the blocking of contact with the paint by stretching, compressing, clinging, or closing with a material according to the desired pattern of the textile material to be obtained. It is unknown exactly where reserve painting techniques originate, but many cultures are affected and applied. In the reserve painting techniques, the process of blocking the contact of the paint to the textile product through a closing material holds an important place. The basics are the basis of these methods. It is observed that the products that are formed, developed and changed by the cultures they apply, and the products that are produced by the evolving and changing techniques, have become traditional products over time. This study reveals information about the cultures and dates in which closing material and reserve painting techniques are applied worldwide.
Resist dyeing techniques are defined, textile material is folded, clamped, stitched and gathered or a preventing material applied not to allow penetration of the dye to the textile in accordance with the desired pattern. The resist dyeing techniques is not known exactly where the origin is seen that with the implementation and impact of many cultures. In resist dyeing techniques, wax resist and paste resist techniques has an important place. Batik application, are the basis of these methods. Products, shaped by cultures and developments, are observed to become traditional products for applied countries. In this study, wax and paste resist dyeing techniques and their applications in the worldwide is revealed.
