Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, öğretmen adaylarının ve öğretmenlerin eleştirel okuma öz-yeterlik algı düzeyini ölçmeyi amaçlayan bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Eleştirel okuma becerisi ile öz-yeterlik algısına yönelik kaynaklardan yararlanılarak yeni bir ölçek geliştirme çalışması yapılmıştır. Hazırlanan bu ölçekte 58 madde yer almıştır. Ölçek maddeleri; beşli likert tipinde düzenlenmiştir. Ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması için Çukurova Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi' nin çeşitli ana bilimdalarının ve bölümlerinin birinci, ikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıfında öğrenim gören 650 öğretmen adayından veriler toplanmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliği faktör analizi ile ortaya konmuştur. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini belirlemek amacıyla faktör yükü .40' ın altında olan maddeler atılmış ve geriye 41 madde kalmıştır. Geçerlik çalışmaları kapsamında açımlayıcı faktör analizi ile ölçek üç faktöre indirgenmiş, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile de üç faktörlü yapı sınanmıştır. Ölçek, “değerlendirme, araştırma-inceleme ve görsel” olmak üzere üç faktörden oluşmaktadır. Bu faktörlerin faktör yükleri sırasıyla .68 ile .44.; .68 ile .45; 75 ile .48; arasında değişmektedir. Cronbach alfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları sırasıyla, .69, .78 ve .91 iken, ölçeğin bütünü için .91’dir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin iyi uyum değerlerine sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Ölçeğin güvenirliği için madde analizi, Cronbach Alfa güvenirlik katsayıları, maddeler ve alt ölçekler arasındaki korelasyon katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Güvenirlik ve geçerlik çalışmaları, ölçeğin kullanılabilir özelliklere sahip olduğunu göstermektedir.
The main objective of this research is to develop a scale aimed at measuring the level of self-competence in critical reading of teachers candidates and teachers. A new scale development work has been carried out using the resources for critical reading skills and self-capacity perception. There are 58 items in this scale. The measurement of the substance is arranged in the five-type likert. For the validity and reliability of the scale study, data have been collected from 650 teachers candidates studying in the first, second, third and fourth classes of the various main sciences and departments of the University of Çukurova Education Faculty. The structure validity of the measurement is determined by the analysis of the factor. Factor load to determine the structure validity of the measurement. The subjects under 40 were thrown and the subjects remained 41. In the framework of validity studies, the scale has been reduced to three factors with the opening factor analysis and the verifying factor analysis has also tested the three-factor structure. The scale consists of three factors: “evaluation, research-examination and visual.” The factor loads of these factors vary between .68 and .44.; .68 and .45; 75 and .48; respectively. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency ratio is .69, .78 and .91, respectively, while for the entire scale is .91. As a result of the verifying factor analysis, it was found that the scale had good compatibility values. The analysis of the substance for the reliability of the scale, the Cronbach Alfa reliability ratio, the correlation ratio between the substances and the lower scales are calculated. The reliability and validity studies show that the scale has available features.
The main objective of this study is to develop a scale for measuring the self-efficacy perception levels of teachers and pre-service teachers about critical reading. A study about developing a new scale was conducted by making use of resources about critical reading skill and self-efficacy perception. This new scale consisted of 58 items. The items of the scale were designed as fivefold likert type. The validity and reliability of the scale were tested with the data collected from 650 pre-service teachers studying at the first- second, third and fourth grades of various departments of Çukurova University Faculty of Education. The construct validity of the scale was revealed by factor analysis. So as to define the construct validity of the scale, the items the factor loads of which were below .40 were excluded and 41 items remained in the scale. In the scope of validity tests, the scale was reduced to three factors through exploratory factor analysis and the three-factor structure was tested by confirmatory factor analysis. The scale consists of three factors which are “evaluation, investigation-exploration and visual”. The loads of these factors range between .68 and .44; .68 and .45; 75 and .48, respectively; the cronbach alpha consistency coefficients were .69, .78 and .91, respectively while it was .91 for the whole scale. It was seen as a result of confirmatory factor analysis that the scale has good coherence values. Item analysis, Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficients and correlation coefficients between the items and sub-scales were calculated. The studies of validity and reliability showed that the scale has the necessary characteristics to be used.
