Abstract:

The so-called translations are a situation that is published with the claim to be a translation but is not actually a real translation, that is, the translation between two languages is not necessary. The author of the text is ideological, cultural, social, commercial, etc. There is no such situation as linguistic and cultural translations from one language to another in the so-called translation. There is no connection between the source and the male text. Although the author introduced himself as a translator, he generated a so-called translation, he actually produced the source text. But according to Toury, every text published with the assumption that it is a translation is a translation. At this point, a question comes to mind: though it is not a real translation, it is a translation in the texts published with the claim that it is a translation to facilitate the linguistic and cultural translation between the source and the male text, or by describing the translations, a period, a socio-cultural structure, etc. What is the location of the translation theories requested to be informed about? In other words, if the so-called translation is a kind of translation, is it not necessary to apply translation theories in the writing of such texts? From these questions to the way in this study on the so-called translation, the application of the functional translation theories from the translation theories was discussed and the discussion over the novel Young Girls, which was written by Nihal Yeğin Obalı in 1950 as a so-called translation type, was attempted to set a concrete layout.
