Bu araştırmanın amacı; uzaktan öğrenenlerin açıköğretim kavramına ilişkin metaforik algılarını ortaya koymaktır. Nitel bir yapıda olan araştırmada, olgu bilim (fenemonoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu; Açıköğretim fakültesinde bir önlisans programında öğrenim gören 41 öğrencidir. Araştırma verileri, (Açıköğretimi sahip olduğu özellikleri düşünerek, canlı veya cansız bir varlığa, bir nesneye ya da her hangi bir şeye benzetmek istesem …………….. ya benzetirdim. Çünkü ……..…) şeklinde eksik bırakılmış bir cümleden oluşan form aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, nitel araştırma desenine uygun olarak içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; 41 uzaktan öğrenen 32 farklı metafor geliştirmiş ve bu metaforlar “İhtiyaç”, “Değişim ve Gelişim”, “Zorluk”, “Bilgi kaynağı olma”, “Olumsuz yönler”, “Değişken ve beklenmedik” ve “Büyüklük” olmak üzere 7 kategoride toplanmıştır. Kategorilerin 4’ü olumlu 3’ü de olumsuz düzeydedir. Açıköğretim kavramına ilişkin sonuçlar incelendiğinde, uzaktan öğrenenlerin açıköğretimiçok “değişim ve gelişim” olarak algıladıkları görülmüştür. En çok kullanılan metafor ise “2. Bahar” olmuştur.
The purpose of this research is to reveal the metaphoric perceptions of the concept of education by distance learning. In the research that is in a quality structure, the fact science (fenemonology) design has been used. The study’s work group is 41 students who study in a pre-graduate program at the Faculty of Open Education. The research data, (with regard to the characteristics that my education has, I would like to compare to a living or unviolent being, an object or anything ........................ Because ... ... it was gathered through a form of a missing phrase. In data analysis, the content analysis method was used in accordance with the quality research pattern. According to the study, 41 learning from a distance developed 32 different metaphors, and these metaphors were gathered in 7 categories, including “Need”, “Change and Development”, “Surprise”, “Being a Source of Information”, “Negative Aspects”, “Variable and Unexpected” and “Size”. 4 of the categories are positive and 3 are negative. When the findings regarding the concept of open education were studied, it was found that those learning from a distance perceived open education as a very "changing and development". The most commonly used metafor is "2. It was spring.”
