Abstract:

Özet Bu çalışmanın amacı genel biyoloji laboratuvarında bitkilerde fotosentez ve solunum konusunda “Tahmin Et-Gözle-Açıkla” (TGA) stratejisine dayalı hazırlanan etkinliklerin, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının kavramsal başarıları ve tutumlarına etkisini doğrulama laboratuvar yaklaşımı ile karşılaştırarak araştırmaktır. Bu araştırmanın örneklemini, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalı'nda öğrenim gören ve 2007- 2008 öğretim yılında güz döneminde Genel Biyoloji Laboratuvarı I dersini alan “122” 2. Sınıf, öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, fotosentez ve solunum konusu ile ilgili bir “Kavram Başarı Testi” ve “Biyoloji Laboratuvarı Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçları, TGA stratejisine dayalı laboratuvar yaklaşımı ile hazırlanan etkinliklerin, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının kavramsal başarılarına ve biyoloji laboratuarına karşı tutumlarına etkisinin anlamlı olduğunu göstermiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: TGA Stratejisi, Solunum, Fotosentez, Kavramsal Başarı, Tutum Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of a verification laboratory approach with laboratory instruction designed based on “Predict-Observation-Explain” (POE) strategy on pre-service science teachers' development of conceptual achievement and attitudes in the general biology laboratory. In this study, the sample consisted of 122 pre-service teachers who took the General Biology Laboratory I course at the Pamukkale University, Faculty of  Education, Department of Science Education. The research was realized in fall semester of 2007-2008 academic year. The data was obtained with instruments which include “Concept Achievement Test” related the units of photosynthesis and respiration  in plants and “Attitude Test” towards biology laboratory. Results of the analyses showed that the effect of laboratory instruction designed based on POE strategy on development of conceptual achievement and  attitudes toward biology laboratory Key Words: POE Strategy, Respirration, Photosynthesis, Conceptual Achievement, Attitude
