Abstract:

The crisis between Turkey and Syria has affected in many ways particularly the relationship between Syria and also it has affected the general relationship between the Middle East and the West. This crisis has emerged in March of 2011 in Syria, after the protestation against the Assad regime and in time it has become a problem that effects in economic, social, political, military, diplomatical terms on both sides. In addition, Hatay is one of the cities most affected by the Syrian crisis. Hatay is important because of its geographical location as being beyond the border city between Syria and Turkey. And also it has got intensively, social and economic interaction between Syria. One of the most important problems that civil war in Syria has emerged, is a refugee crisis and this crisis considerably affects Hatay province too. In fact, it will be an appropriate determination that this Syrian crisis in the same time has become the crisis of Hatay. In this study, the economic, social, political and urban effects of the Syrian crisis on the Hatay province are examined. In this context, measures should be considered that transcend "crisis management" for Hatay and other similar border towns. Precautions must be taken and implemented.
