This research is conducted in order to monitor and examine the interpersonal problem solving skills among the social work students. The research universe is the social work BA students in Turkey, and the research sample is a group of social work BA students from Hacettepe, Ankara, Başkent and Aydın Adnan Menderes Universities. The research is conducted between November and April in the 2012-2013 academic year. During the research 413 interviews are done with 261 female and 152 male students. According to the research, the majority of the students have 2 or more siblings and when the parental attitudes of the students are asked, it is cited that the majority of the students experience a protective parental attitude. When the interpersonal problem solving skills of the students are examined, it is observed that the female students approach problems in a negative way more than male students; in spite of this, lack of self confidence among male students is more than female students. Moreover, it is seen that older students’ levels for problem solving skills index’ sub index are meaningfully higher than younger students. For instance it is seen that the students between 25-33 age are more skilled in constructive/creative problem solving than the students between the age 18-24. Additionally, according to the research, a significantly difference in subindexes between different university students are observed. For instance; it is observed that the students from Başkent University are approaching the problems in a negative way more than the students from Ankara University and Hacettepe University students are more skilled in constructive/creative problem solving than the students from Başkent University. Additionaly the students from Adnan Menderes University are approaching to theirself more distrustly than the students from Hacettepe University.
