This study aimed at comparing university students’ interpersonal problem solving approaches and skills regarding their gender age and the field of the study Sample for this study consisted of 623 308 female and 315 male undergraduate and graduate students attending 15 different programs at Çukurova University Data were gathered through the Interpersonal Problem Solving Inventory developed by Çam and Tümkaya 2006 Results revealed that for female students the mean scores of approaching problems in a negative way and insistent persevering approach were higher than those of male students It is also found that the mean scores of Lack of Self Confidence for male students were higher than those of female students There is no gender difference regarding Constructive Problem Solving and Unwillingness to Take Responsibility It was observed that in terms of Constructive Problem Solving the mean scores of students aged between 23 30 years old were higher than those of aged between 18 20 years old For the subscale of Unwillingness to Take Responsibility students aged between 18 20 years old got higher scores than those aged between 23 30 years old When the mean scores of subscales were compared on the basis of students field of the study eg Social Sciences Science and Technical Sciences it was found that there was no significant difference in the scores obtained from all the sub scales Key Words: University Students Interpersonal Problem Solving
