While –DIyDI and –mIştI suffixes are handled in Turkish grammar books in pluperfect category, they are referred in some studies as suffixes that state past perfect. Although there are studies which indicate both suffixes are used for the same function, there are also some other researchers who state they have some functional differences. Besides, the differences in the frequency of occurence of these suffixes in Turkish literary language and local dialects draw the attention. Moreover, while two predicative could be handled in perfect category in terms of tense and aspect, their differences could be seen with regards to perfect focality degree. Languages are classified from the point of perfect aspect and differences about them can also occur in Turkish. In this study, frequency of occurence of -mIştI ve –DıydI units in literary language and local dialects and the functional differences between them will be presented, also these two suffixes will be handled in terms of expressing past perfect and experiential perfect in Turkish
