The aim of this study is to examine reading attitudes of 4th grade elementary school students in respect to various demographic variables. In the current study, the data were collected using survey method which describes the existing situation. its universe was composed of 4th grade elementary school students studying in Pamukova county of Sakarya. In this study, the data were collected from 210 students who were selected by convenience sampling method. After the Incomplete scales were removed, the study was conducted through totally 205 data. Data collection tool of this study was “ Reading attitude scale” that was developed by Ünal (2010). The results revealed that 1) girls have higher positive reading attitudes than boys 2) students who have a library at home have higher positive reading attitudes that students who don’t have. 3) factors such as education level of mother and father and financial status of a family don’t have a significant effect on the students’ reading attitudes. Moreover, it is identified that students with high level of reading attitude have higher reading frequency.
