Abstract enWith this study, the effect of the layered curriculum in Science & Technology subject to the academic achievement for 6th and 7th grade students in primary education was analyzed. The research was involved 4 different groups of students from a private primary school in Afyonkarahisar, in the 2008-2009 academic year. Pretest - posttest control group model and action research were used in this research. The pretest and posttest were used as a measurement instruments. Also, as well as layered curriculum measurement instruments, the assessment contains with the received opinions of the students were developed. The results received from developed measurement instruments were subjected to statistical analyses individually and the averages of the groups and level of significance were analyzed. The significance level is assumed as .05. According to this research, layered curriculum is more successful than conventional teaching methods.
