Abstract:

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between self-regulation skills of 48-62 months children and their parents' level of communication. The sample of the study, which was designed in the relational screening model, consisted of 317 randomly selected children attending pre-school education in Bingöl and Hatay. “Personal Information Form”, Mother-Father-Child Communication Assessment Tool (ABÇİDA) ”and“ Self-Regulation Skills Scale (Mother Form) ”scale were used as data collection tool. Descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum), number and percentage, Duncan test, Pearson Correlation coefficient were calculated to analyze the obtained data. After all; a very weak and significant relationship was found between parents' level of communication with their children and their self-regulation skills.
