Abstract:

The teaching approach based on research questioning in the science teaching programs has been adopted. This approach can be effectively applied in classrooms is important in terms of the education of the scientist individuals. The purpose of this research is to determine the attitudes of teachers in the field of science (science, physics, chemistry, biology) towards the research-based teaching approach. The research is in the scan model and the working group is composed of 185 teachers from the science branch working in high schools and high schools in Yozgat in the 2018-2019 academic year. The research has used the Teacher Attitude Scale to Teaching Based on Research Question as a data collection tool. The data is analyzed with the SPSS program. The study found that the teachers’ attitudes were above the middle level. Teachers' attitudes have found significant differences in gender, branch, professional experience, undergraduate/graduate education status, no significant differences in terms of the use of resources other than the curriculum while participating in the course of professional development, the frequency of use of the science laboratory and the frequency of application of the teaching based on research questioning. Teachers have been suggested to develop their attitudes towards the teaching based on research questioning.
