Abstract:

This research aims to evaluate the 9th class English teaching program implemented in the 2018-2019 educational year according to the teachers’ opinions. Research is an imaginary study in the screening model. In this study, according to the opinions of teachers, the achievements, content, educational conditions and evaluation items of the secondary school 9th grade English curriculum were studied. In the research, the survey, which is one of the quantum research techniques, was used. In the analysis of the data, the teacher’s opinions regarding the survey materials were given in percentage and frequency, the arithmetic average of the received opinions was calculated and the square test was used to determine whether the data was significantly different according to gender. The research data were obtained by an survey of 110 English teachers working in the province of Malta. The analysis found that the weekly class hours were not sufficient to achievements, that the achievements related to the psycho-motor field were insufficient, that the number of students in the classes was too much to apply the program. It has been found that the level of giving students the ability to speak and listen is lower than the level of giving them the ability to read and write.
